    Attorney

    Laura K. McDevitt is a seasoned municipal and government affairs attorney with more than a decade of experience advising public entities on complex legal, policy, and economic development matters. She joined Williams, Box, Forshee & Bullard, PC in January 2026.

    Before joining the firm, Ms. McDevitt served as Deputy Municipal Counselor for the City of Oklahoma City, where she led attorneys and professional staff across multiple divisions, oversaw departmental operations and budgets, and advised City leadership and elected officials on high‑profile and often controversial matters. Her practice spanned municipal governance, land use and zoning, economic development, legislative advocacy, and litigation in state and federal courts. Prior to her appointment as Deputy Municipal Counselor, she served as Division Head of the MAPS and Economic Development Division, acting as the primary legal advisor for the City’s MAPS 4 program.

    Earlier in her career, Ms. McDevitt represented tribal governments at the local, state, and federal levels, advising on jurisdictional and regulatory matters, monitoring legislation, negotiating contracts, supporting business acquisitions, and appearing before administrative agencies. She also has extensive experience drafting tribal ordinances and governance documents.

    Ms. McDevitt earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma College of Law, where she completed the American Indian Law Certificate Program, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Letters and History, magna cum laude, from the University of Oklahoma.
